What a wonderful trip we had at Everdon Outdoor Centre!  The children experienced orienteering, bug hunting and habitat building.

Can you complete the new challenges set on Mathletics to earn a Bronze, Silver or Gold certificate?

Welcome to Class 2

Mrs Preston is the class teacher. Mrs Turner is our Learning Support Assistant. There are also 17 phenomenal children in the class.

Our Value of the term is generosity

This term we are trying really hard to improve our handwriting by using Kinetic Letters. Who will be this week's handwriting superstars?

This term the children have been getting to know Skip and Bounce our kinetic letter's monkeys.  They have been building their core strength by writing in their animal positions.  The positions are the lizard, the meercat, the gorilla, the penguin and the stone lion.

This half-term our class topic is Wonder Women.

The children find out about women who have made an impact on world.  The children will focus on a range of women including Rosa Parke, Florence Nightingale, Mary Seacole, Queen Victoria and many more.

All of Class 2 got the opportunity to visit Guilsborough Academy to take part in a KS1 Multi-Sport Festival.  The children got to try out a range of sporting activities.  Great fun was had by all.

Some children also got the opportunity to attend a Pacesetter KS1 Cross-Country Festival at Bridgewater Primary School.

Class 2 have been enjoying our monthly 'Whatever the Weather Walks' through the stunning Guilsborough countryside.

Class 2 on our Children in Need Dress Down Day.

In Science we are focusing on the topic, 'Animals, including humans.'   We will be looking at how to stay healthy by eating the right things and exercising frequently.

We had an amazing visit from Zoolab.  The children got to meet a corn snake, rat, cockroach and a centipede.

Homework is set on Fridays and is due in the following Friday.  The children have Power Projects to undertake at home this term.  Each project is worth point.  How many points can you collect this term?  They also have the Mathletics challenges to complete too.

Well done to all our sticker bookmark champions who have managed to read every week night last term.  We had seven children.  Can you be a reading champion this term?

In maths we have been looking at coins and finding different ways of making amounts.

The children have been learning to May Pole.  They can now do the Barber's Pole and the Spidersweb dances.
