Healthy Eating

At Guilsborough Primary, we actively encourage all of our children and adults to make healthy choices with the foods they eat and the drinks they drink - at snack time, in packed lunches and with hot school dinners, as well as in everyone's wider lives.  We are currently working towards the Northamptonshire Healthy Child Initiative.

We do our best to promote a positive 'all things in moderation' approach, so occasionally, we may hold a cake sale for charity, or children are able to buy a small bag of sweets at the end of term disco, for instance.

We are also encouraging our children to take part in 'Cookathons' over holiday periods, so the children make a healthy recipe with their families, and bring in photographs of the cooking (or eating!) and a copy of the recipe.  Classes then vote for their favourite recipe, and they will get a chance to cook the winner (and taste it) in school.
