Forest school

We are proud to introduce Forest School as a new and exciting part of school life!

Forest School plays a vital role in supporting the allround development of our pupils. Through meaningful time outdoors, we nurture every aspect of a child’s growth — physical, social, emotional, mental, spiritual and cognitive.

Our Approach

We believe children learn best when they are active, curious and connected to the world around them.

Through Forest School, pupils will:

Explore natural environments through hands-on experiences
Build confidence and independence
Develop resilience and emotional wellbeing
Strengthen communication, teamwork and leadership skills
Grow into responsible and caring members of their community

By introducing Forest School, we are creating more opportunities for children to develop creativity, problem-solving skills and a lifelong appreciation for nature.

Our Forest School sites

As part of this new provision, the school has developed access to two outdoor learning environments. An on-site Forest School area is located within the school grounds. This space allows for regular sessions and includes a heated lodge, ensuring learning can continue even in colder or more challenging weather. An off-site Forest School area of secure, fenced woodland space, just a 10-minute walk from school, offers a more immersive “mini-forest” experience.

What Forest School offers

As this new programme launches, pupils will benefit from:

Year-round outdoor learning
Sessions led by a Level 3 Forest School Leader (in training)
Opportunities for every child across the school
Small group sessions
A structured 6-week rolling programme
Extended sessions of up to two hours
Waterproof clothing provided

Forest School represents an exciting new chapter for us all, enhancing the curriculum and giving every child the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive outdoors.
